 Curb Appeal USA, Inc began long before this venture. I left a fortune 500 company in 1999 as a national sales manager to start a landscape curbing company overnight. I had seen it in my fathers yard. Once he had told me the process and the littletime it took to install, as well as the price he paid, I came upwith Curb Appeal that evening. Within 3 weeks I owned a competitors equipment and started curbing. With NO support or training, I learned everything about this industry by trial & error (and there were a lot of errors!)
Fast Forward to 2002. My wife and I have a curbing crew installing and we started talking about how WE could help other people like us have the opportunity to own a business of their own. After 22 years in corporate America I could no longer convince myself to push for one more month end or strive to reach those always unrealistic goals set by people who can't do so they manage. Least of all being told that you are only as good as your last 30 days, and what have you done for us lately. At 46 I retired and moved my family to Florida away from the hustle and bustle of Boston. Taking the Leap
I, like most all Americans, was brought up by parents that believed strongly in school and education. The mantra in our household was, “Attend school regularly, work hard while there, and get great grades so I can have a good job with a secure future.” And until recently that worked well for me. I went to school, all the way through graduate school. I had a good job too, a couple of them in fact. I was privileged enough to be a teacher of children and a protector of civic sensibilities as a police officer. But I always wanted more. More freedom. More time with my family. More autonomy. More money.
Then I was injured on duty. A low speed car accident left me with some low back issues that put a serious rift in my law enforcement career. So I started looking for something else to do. I could teach but that was less money and just as much time. I could buy a franchise but the up front costs were very hefty with a slow return on investment. I could start my own business but upwards of 95% of those fail in the first year.
Then I found Curb Appeal USA Inc. It seemed like the perfect marriage of ideas, between a start up and a franchise. It provided the same detailed business plan, support, and training as a franchise but was a fraction of the cost, like a start-up. Since taking the leap and starting my own business, Central Oregon Curb Appeal LLC, things have definitely changed for me. It’s scary. Terrifying sometimes. I worry about landing jobs and collecting income, getting benefits, breaking into a market, and so on. One could worry all day if they choose to. I even started in the winter, the worst possible time for curbing. But I’ve I chosen a more action oriented plan to getting business. And most importantly, I am no longer trading my time for money. I am no longer someone else’s responsibility. I can do with my time what I want. And insofar as owning a business, I attend to it regularly, I work hard while I’m there, a do a good job, and I am certain I will reap the rewards of my hard work and secure myself not only a future but will leave behind a legacy for my children.

Curb Appeal International, Inc™ Changes The Rules In The Commercial Extruded Curbing Arena
Curb Appeal International Vice President Steve Caldwell has something to say, in a BIG way!
Since releasing their landscape curb machine some years back, Steve saw the need to pursue the commercial end of his industry. After researching how curbing in the commercial industry is done over the last several years, Steve set out to yet again change it.
“The machines currently on the market are either too expensive (some upwards of 2-300,000 dollars) or just not user friendly”. With having the success of manufacturing one of the best landscape curbing machines in the market today, our CLS.650X, we ventured out to find a manufacturer that could take the same “user friendly” attributes of our landscape extruder and take it to the next level in a commercial style curbing extruder. Well, we found it and it is nothing short of amazing!
Our all new “Pro Curb Series” line of commercial grade extruders includes 2 machines designed exclusively for commercial curbing. These machines can pour a flawless 16” radius, (see below) as well as fill a trench and form the curb at the same time! (see below) The push of a button allows the CLS.3000 to travel on it’s own power, by virtue of the rear wheel power system. Another great option about the CLS.3000 is the hydraulic jack system that allows you to raise or lower it through rough places. All of these functions are controlled from the operator panel located on the steering handle.
You can lay curbing right over rebar or take advantage of our “through-auger” options that will lay the rebar right through the center of the curb automatically!
